No Jump to Recipe Button?!

a fun animation, illustrating the frustration of looking up a recipe online

Ever been on the hunt for a simple recipe, only to find yourself lost in a labyrinth of culinary chaos? Welcome to the world of online recipe hunting, where frustrations abound and "jump to recipe" buttons are as rare as a unicorn in a bakery.

It all starts innocently enough with a Google search for a recipe. Click! You land on a page promising "The BEST recipe EVER!!!" courtesy of a random blog. But before you can even glimpse the recipe, a wild GDPR/cookies pop-up appears, begging for your attention like a clingy friend. After a quick click on "reject all," you're finally free to scroll.

But wait! The blogger has other plans. They launch into an epic saga about philosophy lectures and paper clip collections, leaving you wondering if you accidentally stumbled into a memoir instead of a recipe blog. As you attempt to speed-scroll your way to the recipe, an intrusive ad for a frying pan pops up, stubbornly refusing to let you close it.

Frustration mounts as you're whisked away to a frying pan website, only to hurriedly swipe back to the recipe page. But alas, your scrolling frenzy leads you straight into the treacherous waters of the comments section, where disgruntled home-cooks lament their failed attempts at recreating the elusive recipe.

Defeated and hungry, you retreat to the safety of Google search results, where the cycle begins anew. Ah, the joys of online recipe hunting—where the journey is often more eventful than the destination.
