Project Description:
Creating the visual identity for the Voicenote Vault podcast, hosted by two dynamic women, was a delightful endeavor. Their podcast delves into candid discussions on motherhood, birth, and maternal identity, and they wanted a captivating thumbnail design to reflect their unique voice in the crowded podcasting landscape.

Client's Request:
The hosts, while envisioning illustrations of themselves on the thumbnail, provided creative freedom regarding design elements. While they suggested integrating a vault symbol and a baby bottle into the typography, they ultimately left the design decisions open-ended. They expressed interest in exploring various color palettes, seeking options that resonate with their audience.

Design Concepts:
In one design iteration, I created the "Voicenote Vault" text to resemble wooden alphabet blocks, with a playful nod to childhood. The first "O" subtly resembled a vault, adding a whimsical touch to the overall design. The color palette for this concept was light and bright, exuding a cheerful vibe.

 

Another design concept featured a simple yet striking composition. Against a lilac backdrop, "VOICENOTE" was rendered in deep navy, while the second "O" and the word "Vault" stood out in a light red hue, adding visual interest without overwhelming simplicity.

For a fun and clever design approach, I recreated a WhatsApp chat background pattern overlaid with doodles, simulating a back-and-forth conversation. Voice notes were symbolized by icons of a baby bottle and a dummy, reflecting the podcast's theme. A vault icon adorned the second "O," adding a playful twist to the chat-inspired design.

The chosen design, embraced by the hosts, boasted a simple, clean aesthetic. Set against a light peach backdrop adorned with baby-themed doodles, "VOICENOTE VAULT" stood out in dark grey. A sage green locked padlock hung off the first "O," symbolizing security and trust. Beneath, "honest & unfiltered" echoed in the same hue, emphasizing transparency and authenticity.

Throughout the design process, I ensured each concept captured the essence of the Voicenote Vault podcast while offering distinct visual narratives to resonate with their diverse audience.
